Bowen Peak Hike and Fly

March 30th, 2011

Hike & Fly
If you love the struggle that it takes to get to the top of a mountain but absolutely hate hiking back down then hike and fly missions are a dream come true. You not only save your knees on not hiking back out but you essentially cut the total hiking time and distance in half and it is exceptionally more fun and adventurous. You win across the board unless the condition are bad at the summit. There is nothing worse than to carry a bunch of flying gear up a mountain to find the conditions are bad but on the other hand there is also nothing better than having your flying gear at the top of a mountain with perfect conditions and knowing that it will only take 5 min to get to the bottom of the mountain that just took 3 hours to summit... 5 incredibly fun minutes! In my case today on Bowen Peak I was blessed with the latter. Here is a video of the hike and fly trip on Bowen Peak on an Ozone Bullet 14.

  1. Awesome videos! I'll be in Queenstown in November and will be traveling with my Bullet12m. How friendly is the community there to speedflying?
